Plein Air Painting

29 May

After a disappointing start the first week out,  I decided to focus back on watercolors as we ventured out to rural Crescent, Iowa.  I have always been attracted to big trees.  With this one, the willow branches and leaves cascaded around me forming a lovely cool place from which to capture the character of the old willow.  I finished two other paintings from the same day.  I just need to get them scanned and posted.

Our Plein Air group meets about twice a month to paint local Iowa  scenes.  In June we will be painting around Pisgah and Soldier, Iowa.
