Port of Bandon Outdoor Summer Art Show

3 Jul

It has been a long time since I painted with acrylics, but they were necessary for a painting that would be hanging outside all summer on the boardwalk at the Port of Bandon.  Our Port turns 100 this year, so our boardwalk art show   focuses on historical Bandon.  I used a reference photo of the Lady Washington which I took in May when the tall ships docked in Coos Bay.  The tall ships did not stop in Bandon as  the mouth of the river is no longer deep enough to admit these large graceful ships as it did 100 years ago.

The show went up today and will hang through October 12 when the Watercolor Society of Oregon will be having their fall convention in town.
