Zentangle Tree

This tree clings to the side of the steep path up to Golden Falls in the Golden and Silver Falls State Park.   The autumn light streams through the yellow leaves and highlights the unusual intricate pattern of the tree’s branches.   It reminds me of an ancient labyrinth or the new Zentangle drawings, inviting meditation through following the repetitive patterns in the branches.  The Yupo paper allowed for the picking out of the light filtering through the tree’s leaves and branches.    I was also able to use the liquid paint’s capillary effect on the Yupo paper in painting the grass roots draping over the dark cliff and the moss hanging from the tree branches.
